Lain Huuto is a Finnish choir of lawyers and law students founded in 2009. Paavo Hyökki has been the artistic director since its establishment. The singers are united not only by their profession but also by a motivated and ambitious attitude towards creating high-quality choral music.

The choir is a sought-after performer at various events and regularly organizes its own concerts. Lain Huuto's extensive repertoire includes premieres of new Finnish contemporary choral music, memorable classics of choral music, and fresh arrangements of various pop music gems. Lain Huuto has released singles, music videos, and four full-length albums: Tähti suurempi muita (2015), Straight Masterpieces (2019), Valoon! (2023), and Sydämessäni on taivas (2023). In 2024, Lain Huuto celebrated its 15th anniversary with a gala concert held at the Helsinki Music Centre.

Lain Huuto has received numerous accolades and has been successful in international choir competitions. In 2014, the choir won the main mixed choir category at the international Canta al Mar choir competition in Spain. At the Tampere Vocal Music Festival 2015, it received two gold stamps, and in 2017, the choir was awarded for the best interpretation of the competition repertoire at the Kaunas Cantat international choir competition in Lithuania.

Paavo Hyökki

Paavo Hyökki, one of Finland's leading choral conductors, began his studies at the Espoo Music Institute in 1987, with cello and piano as his instruments. In 2010, he completed a Bachelor of Music degree from the Department of Music Education at the Sibelius Academy and continued his studies in the choral conducting class. Hyökki completed his A-level choral conducting diploma in 2012 with excellent grades, and in the spring of 2013, he graduated with a Master of Music degree.

Paavo Hyökki serves as the artistic director of the male choir Tampereen Laulajat, the Chorus Cathedralis Aboensis (CCA) symphonic choir, the Finnish Male Choir Association's representative choir Liiton Miehet, and Lain Huuto, in the latter two since their founding. He has also collaborated with several choirs and orchestras, including EMO Ensemble, Key Ensemble, vocal ensemble Rajaton, Club for Five, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO), and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (HKO).

Hyökki served on the board of the Finnish Choral Conductors' Association from 2010 to 2016, held the position of artistic director of the Finnish Male Choir Association from 2015 to 2024, and in 2022, he was responsible for the artistic direction of the Sulasol Music Festival. In the autumn of 2024, Hyökki was appointed Artistic Director of Sulasol (The Finnish Amateur Musicians' Association). Additionally, Hyökki is an ensemble singer, artistic producer, and a renowned member of jury panels for choir and vocal ensemble competitions.
